Out of Character Game Thread: Plains of Lashon Campaign

Gentlemen:

Here is where I will post news and such about the campaign. I hope we can move on a nice even and stead pace. I would like to make this weekly but if the responses are not consistent we will move to bi-weekly.

I hope to get everyone into the story arc and have the campaign in full swing by sunday. I will make sure not to bore you with mundane happenings.

Please feel free to ask me what you want on this post here.

I will be posting up the first part of the campaign this Sunday night. You will have untill Friday to post a reply to the Sunday Night posting. If I get replies in sooner from everyone I will move on to the next action in the event.

So far we have Rhadomanthos, Venerable Preceptor, Peng, Varrius and Grapes

I will look over everyone's god starting this Friday. Talk to you guys soon.

lol no worries if my miracle goes through it'll be no problem ripping them to shreds when they are entangled in vines. Plus Varrius i'm sure could empower the beasties with a little abnormal primal rage. And Grapes... Oh, the effect fades after 1 conflict - so the miracle'll be wearing off right about now, having seen no actual use at all.


As a query for Fate: does the Preceptor have any idea of what might have caused the vine-eruption, or is it a wholly unexplained phenomenon?

You could pay belief and do a scrying miracle. Or ask around.

But other than that no, you would not know who did the miracle.

Haois: I think I've figured out what you intended to happen now.

Am I right in thinking that Haois was intending to send a lion as a messenger to the Preceptor, in the Divine Realm - with the lion delivering a crystal heart that would then be activated to cast the miracle?

After rereading the post that is technically correct. You have ownership of the miracle and can cast it at will.

If you wish Exile we can assume you cast the miracle at the mudmen in the neutral territory.

If not we will have to reedit everything

Like you, I'd thought that the miracle was a direct cast - coming into effect before the Preceptor's furry army could spring their ambush.

Hence also thinking that my deity had no idea where the miracle had come from....

It's probably best not to retcon anything we don't absolutely have to.

Is it actually possible to create a time-delayed miracle and give it to someone else to activate when they want? It's certainly an interesting idea, though it'd seem to make pantheons and alliances quite impressively powerful.

If it's not possible, then we could just say that the miracle was a direct cast, and that the lion is just there as a messenger to claim credit - at which point we don't need to change anything.

bingo!give the lad a cigar.

Let us just leave it alone for now.

We will say the crystal fell into the neutral territory right into the middle of the marching mudmen.

You can bind a miracle to an object and have it activate at a later time (a cause and effect state). But if you bind it permament (+3 cost) you have to pay upkeep for the miracle if it pasts over a year untill it is used.

perhaps you don't understand to the complete purpose of the crystal. The green crystal is in truth supposed to serve as a "seed" that is to grow a briar patch which after the conflict all fades even the crystal.

sorry I didn't mention that completely.

I will be posting Monday replies to everyone and get the ball rolling again. Since Varrius has not been seen on the forums we will just leave his character out of continued RPing unless he shows up. This is not to disrepect him but to move the plot onward.

I would love to have one more player to mix things up.

Things are moving slowly but surely. Hopefully the plot will move once the gnome's message gets out and you guys start asking around some questions.

At this point, do I still have any control over the animal horde, or - with the conflict over - have they disapepared back to their burrows?

The conflict is over but it has not been a week. Since they did not go into conflict, I will give you 1 week to do what you wish with them (two posts worth).

I will be posting on Monday July 5th.

I plan to get you three into the story and work out Varrius.

So far I really am enjoying this.

I cannot wait to start twisting the plot and moving forward with more miracles.

PS. I will be tallying everything monday on belief spent for each god. I will post it here in this thread.

Sorry for the delay. I have been busy at work and I am getting ready for Vacation.

Haois and Grapes you need to reread the posts. The feast is being held at a different location than the one you are at. The worm battle happened at a southern location as The Flameheart tribe was marching north when they were attacked. The feast is being held with the Lashon Riders and the god of the Lashon Brasgol. Not sure if you need the Avatar right now Haois. Trust me you will need it in the future.

Venerable Perceptor's tribe is up north near Fogbottom basin and is having their own feast with the rodent army that was in use for a few days.

There is no threat right now so feel free to let me know what you intent to do to gain further belief. If you are seeking a conflict now is the time.

Resolution of which side to trust should be the main topic and I can put you guys in direct contact with the Elder Gods of the Salamander and Gnomes. (Both sides have shown their colors to different gods).

I want to move on to the season of winter very soon. It will be a busy season.

Take a look at your posts and also count up how much belief you spent.

Do we regain any belief for anything? Even if it's only a few points for providing a miraculous feast, it'll be helpful.

The belief gained will be from the conflicts.

However, I will give out 1 belief point for each god participating in the feasts.

So everyone gets 1 more point to play with
