I could create any kind of land that I would like, But i have plans for you guys should you choose the mystery option. So that means that the little home brew island has already been mapped out and statted.

I would prefer a beach/coastal area for my people to reside in or a nice river area with waterfalls. I could also have a nomadic people if that is needed for the campaign (as I did in the one demo game at the convention). I would prefer my people not be located in the swamp, mountains or extremely cold regions, but I can make anything work. The fire of life is present in any location after all. I just think that when most folks say 'living the life' they think of a nice temperate area by the water. In any case I bow to the will of the gamemaster.
